Who We Are

Sarah Johnson,
Managing Director & Senior Physiotherapist

Sarah graduated from Teesside University in 1993 with a degree in Physiotherapy. She initially worked for six years within the NHS to gain experience in the skills necessary when working as a musculo-skeletal specialist in the private sector. During that period, she spent some months working in Florida.

This enabled her to see physical therapy from a different perspective and added to the skills she had already learned from working in the UK. Sarah made a full-time move to private practice in 1999 when she joined Anna O'Brien in the growing practice in Star Yard, Barnard Castle.

After initially working in the NHS, he then chose to work for the Ministry of Defense, specialising in the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Paul’s clinical philosophy is to ensure the individual needs of each patient are considered and addressed. He uses a variety of techniques to achieve this, which include joint manipulation/mobilisation, soft tissue massage and muscle release, nervous system mobilisation, muscle imbalance and movement dysfunction re-education. He also uses electrotherapy and acupuncture to achieve pain relief and promote healing.

Paul and his wife have recently relocated to the area. He has two sons, Jack, aged four and Thomas, aged three.
